 Verified Recommended Reading! As a Latina, I’m thankful to read one of us in a lead investigator position that wants to solve mysteries to protect others, especially our community. I also love seeing how smart Dani is as well, including when it comes down to important moments.Isabella does an incredible job taking a fictional story and making it feel real. That comes from her background, but also those who help her make her books as best as they can be.Isabella’s books are needed right now, at a time when some in power have made the decision that it matters most to protect their position than the people which has made people lose faith in justice.  Verified Another amazing book Isabella was born for writing! I was hard pressed to put this book down just like the first in this series! She knows how to draw you in and keep your attention.  Verified insane action Great story - wonderful author. Can’t wait for the next installment - as it appears she writes trilogies! Every series is absolutely amazing - Hispanic FBI agent, with combat (Ranger) training that makes all the difference. This was cool with cryptanalysis too: pattern recognition in serial killers. Not an expected killer, but certainly plausible. And a wonderful family history, however realistic and traumatic. I too hope her brother becomes an FBI agent ;) serious computer skills. It is a good mixture of action, plot, character and place (Bronx) to make a compelling read. I don’t sleep well after these. But can’t stop reading and always await the next.

 Verified Fast-paced procedural worthy for TV I enjoyed reading this second book in the Daniela Vega series from the very beginning until the end. I finished it in almost one sitting because the story didn't let me go. Just wanted to see how this game of cat and mouse would end. Daniela is a fantastic well-developed character who is a great opponent of the bad guys with an excellent and sharp mind that solves code and sees patterns when others don't. The story itself is like a fast train that starts at a somewhat normal speed and goes faster and faster while keeping you on the edge of your seat. I wished my eyes were trained to read faster just to see what would happen next. The personal connection with the other cases was a nice touch and gave more depth to the story. While reading I was impressed by the explanation of the procedures for solving the cases, even though this is not my first book by Isabella Maldonado, this is the first time I've searched her background and found out that she worked at the FBI, and she knows this from her own experience. I highly recommend this book and the other ones by this author to everyone who wants to read fast-paced procedurals with strong female characters who are fighting against serial killers and other criminals.
