Graves I liked this one. Deaver and Maldonado have made an awesome pairing of the characters of Sanchez and Heron. Their personalities compliment each other. And the suspence and pop-up surprises make for exciting reading . Thank you.

Better than the first book This book was less 'sharp' or rough than the first book. I quite enjoyed it although I can't decide if I love or hate Selena. The more personal nature of the Honeymoon Killer's crimes appealed to me since I'm more cozy mystery than international intrigue although I read them all.Jake and Sanchez are reaching a good equilibrium although I find Eric the most intriguing of them all.

Outstanding Book Deaver always delivers, and the addition of Maldonado to his team only seems to increase the story-telling power. This is a great book: sufficiently complex to satisfy the most jaded of those who prefer this genre of books, yet with truly engaging characters at every level.Great read!A++ Bravo!

An exciting mystery Lots of plots and subplots in this book. It kept you guessing and trying to figure it all out. It was all sorted out and explained in the end though. I am looking for the next in this series.

Very good follow up story in this series... Read the first book in this series and really enjoyed it and gave it 4 stars. Expected a possible let down, in this, the second in the series but after a slower start this story was just as strong as the first but with a few more twists and turns and misdirections. Will look for the next in the series....

Great read The Grave artist was a page turner, I read and listened and every chapter kept my attention. Carmen and Jake both have different expertise but together they make a great team. They move from one case to another capturing the Honeymoon killer, finding Selena, her sister who has been kidnapped and concluded with espionage, is only part of this suspenseful book. Maldonado and Deaver make an interesting pairing of authors, since both have different genres, but their writing works. Definitely recommended 👌

Not bad Enjoyable but a bit too much computer lingo for me, even though it is integral to the story. Took a while to get into it but I did. Preferred the first one if I am honest

Great Thriller 4.5 Stars rounded up to 5 StarsThis book is best read in one or two sittings. It is complex, filled with action and twists that I didn’t envision. It was well written (by two authors, yet it seems like one author wrote it) and is a great thriller.I recommend the Grave Artist.I can’t wait for a third novel in the series to become available. 🤞🏼😊

The Deaver Touch is Key. The second installment of the Deaver/Maldonado collaboration is more effective than the first. It is a serial killer novel; the killer is revealed at the outset of the novel, an often uncommon touch. His M.O. is to kill a newlywed and instill grief in those remaining. He sees this as an aesthetic act—the creation of tableaux that appear to be revealing tragic accidents rather than calculated murders. This is not an uncommon story line in crime fiction. I think, e.g. of Jack Early’s A CREATIVE KIND OF KILLER. (Early is a pseudonym for Sandra Scoppettone.) The novel is set in greater Los Angeles and there are moments when the geography is not completely clear.Nevertheless, the book succeeds because it enjoys two of Jeffery Deaver’s hallmarks—the knowledge of highly complex technical material (in this case, information technology, hacking and intrusion testing) and a clear plot line which nevertheless includes a series of unanticipated reversals. I counted 12-14 of them (realizing that some are more noteworthy than others). In addition to the plotting and the technical knowledge, I have to admit that the ending is very, very satisfying (something that may be too personal, but something that is very important to me).An easy five stars. Highly recommended.

Highly recommended! Short chapters, fast read Highly recommended! Short chapters, fast read. One of the better page turners. Also the hacking is top notch and still realistic. If you take a step back, you might see this as a book against the surveillance state.

The book while enjoyable came out of a salad spinner I always enjoy Jeffery Deaver books. But this one… while quite enjoyable, is something that came out of a salad spinner. The book is written in good language, that is really nice. But my, what a salad mix.You have an Agent of an experimental Homeland Security Unit and an Intrusion specialist, who can penetrate any network. They have an unresolved romantic relationship they are both unaware of- do not worry, they come to realization by the last page of this book. There is a Good Boss and a very Bad one, the Bad one wants to catch a Russian spy and complicates things all the time. The Agent tries to work “by the book” but occasionally bends the rules, and the Intrusionist – (read white hat hacker) breaks the rules to speed things up.There is a Killer- who kills because of “grief” , he killed a groom at a wedding before honeymoon leaving a grieving/angry wife. And a bad Hacker who wants Intrusion guy dead. The Hacker makes an offer to the grief Killer to forget about grief and kill the Agent, the Intrusionist and the Sister… wait a minute, what sister you ask?...It turned out the Agent’s farther did not commit suicide- the Intrusionist “discovered”, but the Agent has no time to solve it- too busy with grief killer. So her Sister investigates and though nearly killed…. Yes, Intrusion guy makes all correct assumptions and they solve everything and save the Sister, helped by Sister’s cop Boyfriend…Not enough in the spinner- add more ingredients- there is a Russian spy who is not a spy but has been turned into an asset and the Bad Boss- see above- flushes him out and is called back to Washington and the Good Boss returns. But wait… where is the Russian spy? There is a Russian spy, but that is a “sleeper” spy who for some reason decides to kill, the Sister…( no explanation for this move, I believe the author got tired of turning the spinner). But as you know by now, the Intrusion guy makes all the right assumptions, the Russian spy is killed by the Good Boss…and the Agent and the Intrusionist are ready for a new assignment. The spinner stops.

Twisty and Satisfying The 2nd installment in what I hope will be a continuing series was every bit as exciting as the first. The rwisted serial kilker premise fueled most of the action, but a neat twist at the end was the icing on top. Only complaint-' still too much, too long foreplay by the two leads, no sex. Thus my hooe for a series.

Great second book I can only hope there will be more in this series. Couldn't put the book down. Actually stayed up until 4am just so I could get to the end in one day.Individually these are two great authors, together they tell one heck of a good story. Please, more books with these characters.

Unexpected? I'm not really sure how to rate this, I didn't quite enjoy it as much as the first book, and I feel like it was convoluted with how much was going on. Every single string they let loose was tied up, and while I appreciated that, I think there were just too many things going on at once. Stan was a prick, the Russian angle was weird, glad they got Kane, Selina was enjoyable, the....burgeoning romance between Carmen and Jake? I could take it or leave it. I wonder if they will complete this with a trilogy or try to stretch it out.I will always and forever read Isabella Maldonado's books. She's in my top 5 favorite authors!
